The Papillon (Butterfly Dog) Club (established 1923) is an organisation for all those interested in the breed of Toy Dog known as the Papillon (or the drop eared type known as the Phalene).
The club was established to promote the interests of the Breed and to ensure adherence to true type as stated in the Breed Standard. The object of the Club is to encourage interest in, and responsible ownership of, the breed. To give advice on the proper care of the breed and generally to promote awareness of its activities and welfare. All members agree to abide by the Club’s rules, Code of Ethics and Code of Good Practice.
The club produces two informative newsletters a year, and a handbook periodically. The club organises two open shows and a championship show each year, and are also involved, along with other Papillon Clubs, in helping and manning a ‘Discover Dogs’ stand at Crufts. The club also operates a Rescue & Welfare for Papillons in need. A club stall is also available, selling Papillon gifts and collectibles.
Subscriptions are due annually on the 1st January and any notice of resignation must be given not less than one month before this date. All payments must be made in GB pounds sterling.
