Peace of Mind for Papillon Owners

Many of us make plans for the future to ensure that our loved ones are cared for and our wishes are respected. For those of us who share our lives with Papillons, that planning should also include the little companions who depend on us every day.

The Club Rescue has, for many years, helped Papillons in need—offering safety, care, and loving new homes when circumstances change. Sadly, one of the most common reasons a dog comes into rescue is the death or serious illness of an owner. At what is already a difficult and emotional time for families, arranging for dogs to be legally released into rescue can sometimes be complicated and take longer than anyone would wish.

To help prevent uncertainty and ensure that your Papillons are protected without delay, the Club has introduced a simple advance planning form. By completing this document, you can formally record your wish for your dogs to be entrusted to Club Rescue should you no longer be able to care for them.

This gives peace of mind in several important ways:

  • Your wishes regarding your dogs are clearly stated.
  • Family members and executors know exactly what you would like to happen.
  • Rescue can act more quickly and efficiently when needed.
  • Most importantly, your Papillons can move into safe, knowledgeable care with minimal disruption.

Every dog accepted through the scheme will receive the same dedication and support that the Club Rescue is known for—careful assessment, appropriate veterinary attention if required, and every effort made to find a loving and suitable new home.

We hope no one will ever need to use these arrangements, but responsible ownership means planning ahead for every possibility. Completing the form is a kind and thoughtful step that reflects the love and devotion we all have for our dogs.

The forms are available to download from the Club website. We encourage all Papillon owners to consider completing one and keeping it with their important papers, while also informing a family member, friend, or executor of its existence.

Because they give us a lifetime of love, it is only right that we do our best to safeguard their future too.
